This significant publication covers more ground than is suggested by the title. As may be expected, it lists all the covers known to the author, with illustrations of many of them; these are analysed by period and type of use, e.g. pre-protectorate, early protectorate, inter-island etc., and details are given of when they last appeared on the philatelic market. Cancellations, destinations, registration numbers and postage rates are also covered, and there are reproductions of some of C.M. Woodford's photographs of the area.

The Postal Stationery of Fiji has won the following awards:
Large Silver medal at the Brighton & Hove International Philatelic Literature Competition, held in November 1998. The judges' comments were "an excellent book, worthy of the high marks awarded".
Large Silver medal at the International exhibition in Nuremberg (IBRA), April 1999.
Vermeil medal at the Sixth New Zealand Philatelic Literature Exhibition (Palmpex 99).

The Postal History and Postage Stamps of the Tokelau/Union Islands was awarded a small silver-gilt medal at Autumn Stampex 1999 and a Large Vermeil medal, with felicitations in recognition of an exceptionally thorough study, at the Sixth New Zealand Philatelic Literature Exhibition (Palmpex 99).

The Illustrated Aviation and Air Mail History of Fiji was awarded a Vermeil medal at Stampex, London, 2002, a Large Vermeil medal at the Association of British Philatelic Societies' Exhibition at Chester in November 2002, a Large Vermeil medal at the 8th New Zealand National Philatelic Literature Competition, held at Palmerston North in June 2003, and a Large Silver medal at Pacific Explorer 2005 in Sydney.

Our magazine, Pacifica, was awarded a Silver medal at Pacific Explorer 2005.
