NEW CALEDONIA/NOUVELLE CALEDONIE.

NEW HEBRIDES/NOUVELLES HEBRIDES.

The Anglo-French Condominium of New Hebrides is now known as Vanuatu (see below). The 20 Gold Centimes stamp shown here, from the 1963-72 definitive series, depicts fishing from Palikulo Point.

This 25 Gold Centimes stamp was issued in 1969 to commemorate the 3rd South Pacific Games at Port Moresby, PNG. It features an athlete and the French and British flags.

This is one of the world's largest coral islands. The 80 cents Yellow Hibiscus shown here is from the 1981-82 definitive set, and was used at the capital, Alofi.

NORFOLK ISLAND.

The island, which lies about 1,000 miles to the east of Sydney, Australia, has had its own stamps since 1947. Here are two values from the 1987 Christmas issue.

PITCAIRN ISLANDS.

This 6 cents stamp from the 1985 19th Century Paintings series was obliterated by the Adamstown roller cancel.

SOLOMON ISLANDS.

These two stamps are from the 1976 Birds definitive series; the 2 cents depicts a River Kingfisher and the 4 cents shows a Button Quail. They were cancelled at Taro island, in Choiseul Province.

TOKELAU (FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE UNION ISLANDS).

The Tokelau group, a dependency of New Zealand, comprises three atolls - Atafu, Fakaofo and Nukunonu - and has had its own stamp issues since 22 June 1948. Immediately prior to that, the stamps of Western Samoa were used. The 15 cent stamp shown here was part of a Canoe Racing set issued on 8th November 1978.

The third (and last) page of stamp illustrations covers Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wake Island, Wallis & Futuna and Western Samoa.
