I've noticed that the New Zealand to US covers addressed back to L.M. Lonngren in Fiji have both a ms number (by Lonngren?) on the front and back.

Could anyone suggest any significance for having both? Could they be running and sector totals?

To start the ball rolling, here's two:
6d rate bs Pago Pago Jan 1 1938 & Suva 18 Ja 38 has 25 on the front and 38 on the reverse.
4/6d " San Francisco Jan 6 1938 and Suva 4 Feb 38 has 5 on the front and 5 on the reverse.

Both are cancelled Auckland 28 De 37.

I have a cover, 6d rate, backstamped Pago Pago 1 Jan 38 and Suva 18 Jan 38. It is numbered 35 on the front and 45 on the back.
