I came across the attached envelope a couple of days ago, and it appears to have a fake 1973 postmark from Tarawa. Before I let the person I obtained the cover from know, I thought I would check with folks to see if they believe the postmark is fake or real. The thing that is obviously wrong is that Ellice is spelled "Ellis." But, I cannot reason why someone would fake a postmark on this type of envelope. The postmark is from 29 NOV 1973, so the stamps are correct for that time.
