Does anyone know where I can locate a list and years of serve of the Resident and Deputy Resident Commissioners who served in the Gilbert Islands? I am particularly looking for the list who lived on Banaba/Ocean Island in the early 1900s.

The Fitchett work states:

T. G. H. Clarke was Resident Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for the Western Pacific, 1898-June 1903.
From 1904 to 1909 he was Resident Commissioner.

M. Arthur W. Mahaffy was Acting Resident Commissioner, GEIC, 19 Jan- 3 Mar 1909, and he visited Ocean Island, 19-31 Jan.

Fitchett is a mine of such info!
