These have just appeared on Ebay.

I've just spoken to Alevina who knows absolutely nothing about them.

My feeling is they're forgeries, possibly by the seller, but I can't be sure.

Point is.....if the person who actually does the overprints knows nothing about them........caveat emptor

Not sure if anyone else is having the same problem but I'm not been able to open any image files in this PISC forum for atleast the last few years. Occassionally I am actually curious to know what has been posted, like this one from Andy.

Matt,

I've, hopefully, tidied up the 3 images so they should now open or download to your downloads file so you can open them from there.

I'll email you them too & hopefully one version, or other, will work.

Two more current offerings which, too, have a very dubious "parentage"

I am also unable to open the image files. I will alert our Web Officer to the problem.

Hi Andy,

Would you kindly describe the issue in words, as we all seem to be having difficulty opening the images.
Are these the overprints of the Bird Definitives?

Thanks

Regards

Philip

Philip, and others,

The 3 images I originally posted show a 65c on 63c overprint (Birds Definitive) which has the following anomalies

1. The overprint is displaced to the centre of the stamp.

2. A horizontal pair, again overprint displaced with the value missing on one of the stamps (position unknown)

3. A marginal block of 4, again overprint displaced& also missing value (stamp 10)

These items were listed, on Ebay, around 11 or 12 April by Heart Stamps, Suva.

Much later (late May) the controller of stamps was instructed to produce said 65c on 63c, along with 38c, 42c & 44c (& also on the 81c definitive). The controller did not produce the template for these 4 values until 24 May 2024 so the listings by Heart Stamps have to be treated as dubious.

Another dubious overprint, which appeared from the same source, was a 50c overprint on the $1 value. This, again was an overprint unknown to the controller (the person who actually does the overprinting).

I'm able to down load those pictures, but the link is a script that does an automatic download instead of just view it in your browser.

Depending on security settings, there are some browsers that may not allow that. My browser at least gave me the option of where to save the file otherwise I wouldn't even know the download had happened.

Image viewing problem still present. Unfortunately this Forum is not of much use to me if I can't view images. Sorry Andy, I can see you have posted quite a few things but I can't see any.

Hi

Just to raise the issue again. STILL UNABLE to view images.
Whatever fix was put in place, has not resolved the problem.
I look forward to seeing another attempt to fix this.

Hi Philip and all other members who are having this unreadable picture issue,

I've dicovered that the pictures we are having trouble with have been modified using Adobe Photoshop and as such can only be view by opening in Photoshop. BUT when opening in Photoshop you will be presented with the below warning message, just select OK and then the picture can be viewed. Not a great solution but it allows you to view the posted pictures.

We really need to make sure that pictures that are being posted are in a good clean format. I guess there is also a chance that the problem actually lies within the web environment which is being used to post the images.

P.S. I've posted a JPG image as well as GIF image of the Photoshop warning message, hopefully atleast one will be viewable.

Just confirming both the above images I just posted are not viewable, except through the Photodsop work around I've mentioned above.
